The Brief
This project began with a simple recommendation. The customer had seen Unnatural Flooring installed in a friend’s home and immediately liked the look and feel.
After visiting our showroom to explore the range in more detail, she chose New England – Woodstock for its natural appearance and practicality.
The aim was to create a carpet that would flow seamlessly through the main living spaces, hallway and stairs, bringing warmth and continuity throughout the home.

Why Choose Unnatural Flooring?
The customer chose Unnatural Flooring for its combination of design, durability and everyday practicality.
Unnatural Flooring is designed to replicate the natural look and texture of traditional flooring materials, while offering the performance benefits of modern synthetic fibres. This makes it a popular choice for homeowners who want a stylish finish without the maintenance concerns often associated with natural carpets.
The New England range offers:
- Excellent durability, making it well suited to busy family homes
- A soft yet resilient feel that performs well across large living spaces, hallways and stairs
- Strong colour stability and resistance to everyday wear
- Compatibility with double-stick installation methods for added comfort and long-term performance
The Woodstock colour was selected for its natural tone and subtle variation, helping to create a calm, cohesive look throughout the home while standing up to daily use.
The Approach
With a project of this size and specification, preparation was key to achieving a high-quality finish.
The lounge diner measured over 7 metres wide, meaning a join was required. Careful planning ensured the seam was positioned and finished to maintain a consistent appearance across the space.
Because this was a double-stick installation, the subfloor needed to be brought to a very high standard. Any imperfections would transfer through the underlay and into the final finish.

See it. Feel it. Choose with confidence.
Preparation & Installation Process
Our team carried out a full programme of preparation and installation, including:
- Uplift and responsible disposal of existing carpet, underlay and gripper rods
- Securing loose and uneven chipboard subfloors
- Feather-finishing all uneven areas to eliminate imperfections
- Installation of a 6mm crumb rubber underlay, providing excellent density and comfort underfoot
- Application of F40 tackifier to bond the underlay to the subfloor
- Installation of the carpet using F3 adhesive for a secure double-stick system
- Loose cutting-in and a 24-hour acclimatisation period before final fitting
This method ensures a longer-lasting installation with improved comfort and stability across all areas of the home.

The Result
The finished floor delivers a seamless and cohesive look throughout the property, with a natural texture that works beautifully across both open-plan and transitional spaces.
The join in the lounge diner was carefully blended to maintain visual continuity, while the double-stick system provides a firm yet comfortable feel underfoot.
The customer was absolutely delighted with the result and was extremely complimentary about our fitters, Stu and Ellis, highlighting their professionalism, attention to detail and care throughout the installation.
