What We Did
Client: Jetty Spa Hotel / Harbour Hotels Group
Location: Bristol City Centre
A Luxury Transformation Beneath a Historic Landmark
We were proud to be part of the transformation of one of Bristol’s most iconic heritage buildings—once the grand Lloyds Bank, now the Jetty Hotel, a luxury spa destination. Originally designed by famed architect William Bruce Gingell, the building draws inspiration from the 16th-century Library of St. Mark in Venice.
Our work took place entirely in the basement, within the original bank vaults—an architectural feature that presented unique flooring challenges.
Precision Work in a Complex Setting
The project required flooring installation across several key areas:
- Gym
- Treatment rooms
- Waiting areas
- A multi-use function space, also known as the Vault
Each space needed a tailored flooring solution. We installed:
- Amtico in public spaces and the Vault for a durable, high-end finish
- Unnatural Flooring in the treatment rooms, offering both practicality and style
- Everoll impact rubber flooring in the gym to ensure safety and comfort underfoot
Flooring that works for every space
Listed Building Constraints and Smart Solutions
Because the original vault doors are extremely heavy and the building is listed, removing them was not an option. To work around this, we ground down the surrounding concrete floors to lower the levels. This allowed us to lay new flooring beneath the doors without altering the structure.
After levelling, we applied DPM (damp-proof membrane), latex screed, and then installed the new floor coverings – delivering both performance and preservation.
Expertise in Hotel Flooring
This project highlights our experience in delivering hotel flooring solutions that balance aesthetics, functionality, and the challenges of working within historic and listed environments. From spas to gyms to event spaces, we help elevate hospitality interiors with precision, care, and craftsmanship.
