Giving Back: Citizens Advice Torquay’s 85th Anniversary Project

CSR In Action: Supporting Citizens Advice Torquay – 85 Years Strong

We recently had the pleasure of completing a very special project for Citizens Advice Torbay, marking their 85th anniversary with a full flooring refit of their offices — all carried out free of charge by the Flooring Matters team.

Led by our CSR Champion Maisie, the project was part of our ongoing commitment to giving back to the community that supports us. Over the course of one week, fitters Will and Dan transformed the space, installing a bright blue and grey checkerboard pattern across several offices, with hardwearing blue carpet to the hallways and stairs. The existing stair nosings were reused, helping to keep waste to a minimum, and new entrance matting completed the refresh.

Sustainability is Action

To make the project even more sustainable, we reused surplus materials from previous installations – proof that you can create something vibrant and professional without compromise.

The Citizens Advice Torbay team were thrilled with the result, saying:

“They came, they saw and they conquered – and all with a smile! Great customer focus and so very efficient in their approach to the job. The new floor covering, in offices that hadn’t been recarpeted in twenty years, has given our Advice Centre a new lease of life. The different colours and patterns in each room are vibrant and fresh. It will be a whole new experience to welcome clients and our volunteers to their new working environment.”
