A Warm, Natural Look with Practical Benefits
In Liverton, we installed straight-laid Wide Plank LVT from the Invictus collection across 54m² to create a relaxed and inviting feel throughout the dining room, lounge and hallway.
The Roasted colourway offers rich, warm tones with realistic grain detail, giving the appearance of natural wood while delivering the durability and practicality that modern family homes need. Wide Plank LVT is a great choice for achieving a natural look with added resilience, especially in high-traffic areas.
To enhance the overall finish, we incorporated black design strips in the doorways to define each space where the plank direction changes, adding a subtle but effective design detail.
Subfloor Preparation – Getting It Right from the Start
As with all of our installations, careful preparation was key to achieving a long-lasting result.
For this project, the preparation process included:
- Inspection of the existing subfloor once the previous flooring had been removed
- Installation of SP101 plywood:
- 3.6mm ply in the lounge
- 9mm ply in the hallway and dining area
- Securing and smoothing the subfloor to remove any movement or inconsistencies
- Application of feather edge latex to achieve a smooth, level finish ready for LVT
- Careful setting out to ensure plank direction worked across all areas
This groundwork ensures the finished floor not only looks great but performs properly over time.

Installation Details
The Invictus Maximus Dryback planks were installed using a glue-down method, allowing for a solid, stable feel underfoot and excellent durability.
We also fitted:
- Black 3mm design strips between areas
- A matching wood-effect stair nosing for a cohesive finish
The Result
The finished floor flows seamlessly between rooms while still giving each space its own identity. The Wide Plank LVT format helps to open up the areas, creating a calm and spacious feel throughout the home.
